ATV’ers!
Ready………Set………Go!
2006 Marienville Tour De Forest set for May
20-21
Once
again the town of Marienville will welcome
ATV enthusiasts from all over the United
States to the 2006 Spring Tour De Forest
being held May 20-21.
This ride is a great event for ATV riders
and their families who prefer a less
difficult environment. The 50-mile system is
mostly one-way travel, consisting of dirt
roads and ATV trials throughout the
Allegheny National Forest. The beautiful
scenery of the Allegheny National Forest
surrounds you as you make your way through
the trail system. Participants can register
for a one or two-day ride and lunch is
available along the trail both days.
Pre-registration is also available online at
www.marienville-fire.com/tourdeforest.
“There are some special trails that are only
available through Tour De Forest,” said
Frank Poplivich, owner of the Forest Lodge
and Campground just outside Marienville.
“Everyone that has ridden in the past says
that they meet a lot of new people that
become friends.”
Located in Northwestern PA’s Allegheny
National Forest region, Marienville boasts a
safe, small-town atmosphere. There are
plenty of places to stay ranging from
hotel/motels to cabins and campgrounds.
“It takes me 400 miles just to get to the
Tour De Forest,” said Doug Kingsbury of
Bristol Connecticut. “The town is really
receptive to the event….it is a fabulous
ride.”
Each year, almost 2000 riders arrive in
Marienville and unload their ATV's while
having the uncommon privilege of legally
riding through town. The event starts in the
heart of Marienville, travels throughout the
forest and returns back to town to complete
the loop.

Not only will you be having a great time
with your family and friends, you will also
be helping the Marienville Volunteer Fire
Departments Truck Fund as well as Shriner’s
Hospital for Crippled Children.
