To all you pack rats (we mean
that nicely!) or collectors of trash or
treasures, do we have a garage sale for you! On
July 16 and 17, bargain hunters can take to the
road in search of that one-of-a-kind find at the
100 Miles of Yard Sales that covers the back
roads of Cameron, Centre, Clearfield and Elk
counties. This annual event sponsored by the
Quehanna Industrial Development Corporation will
start at Shawville (Take exit 123 off I-80
taking Route 970 North to Route 879 East) and
travel through Frenchville and Karthas following
the Quehanna Highway through Piper to Route 872
into Sinnemahoning and Driftwood. Then take
Route 555 to Benezette and Weedville circling
back down to Route 153 South and back to
Interstate 80.
The sponsors of the event will have a shop near
Karthas behind the Quehanna Motor Motel to sell
100-Mile t-shirts to commemorate the annual
event. Some of the best hot sausage in PA and
homemade bean soup will be also be available to
hungry shoppers.
